During the experiment, epidermal stem cell cultures were treated with PhytoCellTec ™ Alp Rose, while the remaining cells were left untreated. Then, cultures were exposed to ultraviolet rays of ranges A and B. Then, the efficiency of colony formation of stem cells was measured. The results showed that UV radiation significantly reduces the efficiency of colony formation. The treatment with PhytoCellTec ™ Alp Rose increased the efficiency of colony formation, i.e. viability, and provided significant protection against UV rays.

HOW DID PhytoCellTec ™ TECHNOLOGY?

Each plant contains stem cells. Unlike the material of the human body, the stem cell of a plant has the potential to turn back into a stem cell and grow into a new, full-fledged plant. PhytoCellTec ™ is a new biotechnology that Mibelle Biochemistry researchers have successfully used to cultivate plant stem cells. Under special conditions, callus cell growth is induced in the selected plant tissue. Such callus cells are undifferentiated plant cells or, in other words, stem cells. At the next stage, stem cells are cultivated in special bioreactors, as a result of which it is possible to obtain a large number of plant stem cells.
